Refund & Cancellation Policy

Terms for cancellations, refunds and chargebacks under Indian consumer law.

Applicable law: Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

1. Nature of our services

Resume Truth sells digital, personalised, instantly-delivered products:

  • Full Resume Audit Report (₹199)
  • CV Builder Download (₹499)

Once generated or downloaded, these products cannot be "returned" in any meaningful sense — the value has been consumed. As such, our default policy is no refunds after successful delivery.

2. When you are entitled to a refund

You are entitled to a full refund in the following cases:

1. Duplicate payment — the same product was charged twice for the same order.

2. Payment success but no delivery — you were charged but the report/CV was never generated due to a verified technical failure on our side.

3. Unauthorised transaction — you did not authorise the payment and can produce proof (e.g. police complaint / bank dispute report).

3. When refunds are not available

  • You changed your mind after seeing the report;
  • You disagree with the AI's score, feedback, salary estimate, or rewrite suggestions;
  • You did not read the free preview / disclaimer before purchasing;
  • You did not get a job, interview, offer, or salary hike after using the resume;
  • You uploaded the wrong file, or a corrupted / password-protected file, and a report was still generated;
  • You expected features not advertised on the pricing page.

These outcomes are covered by our Disclaimer which explicitly states that no employment outcome is guaranteed.

4. How to request a refund

Email support@resumetruth.in within 7 days of the transaction with:

  • Razorpay Payment ID / Order ID
  • Registered email
  • Reason for the refund request
  • Screenshots or evidence supporting the claim

We will acknowledge within 24 hours and decide within 7 working days. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 working days by Razorpay; actual credit depends on your bank / card issuer.

5. Chargebacks

Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank or card network. Chargebacks filed without prior contact will be contested with:

  • Server logs proving delivery of the digital product;
  • Timestamps of report generation and download;
  • Evidence of acceptance of these Terms.

Fraudulent chargebacks may be reported under Section 66D of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Section 316 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your account and stop using the Platform at any time by writing to support@resumetruth.in. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of completed purchases.

7. Taxes

Prices are inclusive of GST. Refunds, when granted, are refunded net of any non-recoverable payment gateway fees only where permitted by RBI / Razorpay guidelines.

8. Grievance Redressal

Under Rule 4(4) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and Rule 3(2) of the IT Rules, 2021:

  • Grievance Officer email: support@resumetruth.in
  • Acknowledgement: within 48 hours (Rule 4(4))
  • Resolution: within 30 days maximum (Rule 4(4)); target 15 days.

If unresolved, you may approach the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) at 1915 or file a complaint at consumerhelpline.gov.in.

9. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Exclusive jurisdiction: courts at New Delhi, subject to arbitration as set out in our Terms of Service.
